About
I build systems, CLI tools, and low-level things.
I'm interested in operating systems, computer architecture, and C — and, when I feel like it, simple web work too.
Most of what I make starts as a way to understand something better, not as a product. That isn't modesty; it's how I learn. I don't trust that I understand a thing until I've built it.
This page, and the writing on it, is an extension of the same habit — verifying instead of deferring.
The seeker of truth is not one who studies the writings of the ancients and, following his own disposition, puts his trust in them. The seeker of truth is one who suspects his own understanding of them, who suspends judgement on what he takes from them — who follows proof and demonstration, and not the word of a man who is, after all, only human.
